Board-certified ophthalmologist Daniel Tepper, MD, focuses on excellence in patient care and has extensive experience using advanced techniques to treat many acute and chronic eye conditions, including macular degeneration.

Dr. Tepper also provides vision screenings and refractive error correction services to ensure that each of his patients enjoys sharp, clear vision through all phases of their lives. A variety of fashionable and affordable eyeglasses, contacts, and other eyewear for kids and adults are available on-site.

The state-of-the-art eye care center features diagnostic services, including dilated eye exams and glaucoma testing. Fluorescein angiograms are available on-site to diagnose diabetic retinopathy. Dr. Tepper also offers skin prick tests in-office to identify environmental triggers of eye allergies.

Wicker Park Eye Center is well-regarded for their expertise in the minimally invasive treatment of dry eyes. Advanced technologies, like intense pulsed light (IPL) lasers and LipiFlow®, are available to stimulate glands to produce higher-quality tears.

Meet Our Providers

Daniel Tepper, MD

Ophthalmology & Eye Surgery

Daniel Tepper, MD, is a board-certified ophthalmologist and practices comprehensive ophthalmology with a focus on advanced cataract surgery and the diagnosis and treatment of glaucoma. He sees patients at Wicker Park Eye Center in Chicago, Illinois.

Dr. Tepper received his undergraduate and master’s degrees in the biological sciences from the University of Illinois, Champaign-Urbana. He then completed his medical training in 1991 at Tulane Medical School in New Orleans, where he graduated with honors and was recognized for his clinical research in ophthalmology.

After completing his ophthalmology residency at Tulane, Dr. Tepper was invited to join the school’s medical staff, where he taught surgical skills to ophthalmology residents. In 1997, he returned to practice in his hometown of Chicago.

Dr. Tepper is a diplomate of the American Board of Ophthalmology and an adjunct clinical professor at the University of Illinois in Chicago. He actively supports the Blind Service Association as a prior board member and has several society memberships, including the American Medical Association, the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the Illinois Association of Ophthalmology, and the Chicago Ophthalmological Society.

Since his teenage years, Dr. Tepper has been an avid proponent of utilizing proper nutrition and fitness to prevent disease, and he frequently integrates nutritional information into the care of his patients.
